چکیده

Background: The upper permanent canine tooth germ develops close to maxillary sinus (MS)1 therefore, displacement and MS pneumatization may have a link.2 This study aims evaluate the dimensions, volume, range of anterior vertical in bilaterally palatally (PDCs) buccally displaced (BDCs) compared normally erupted (NDCs) subjects. Methods: Cone-Beam-Computed-Tomography (CBCT) images 167 patients (131 females/33 males, age averaged 18.88 ± 1.66 years) were included study. Maxillary canines 60 patients, 57 50 following variables measured: anterior, lateral, distance from cusp tip wall, volume inferior pneumatization. paired sample t-test was applied detect differences between right left sides. Differences three groups assessed using Chi-square ANOVA one-way analysis tests. Results: More detected NDCs’ extended incisor region 20%, 10%, 4%, 10%,12%, 24.5% PDCs, BDCs, NDCs subjects, respectively (X2 = 19.22, p 0.014). Significant sides detected, subsequently, values (Table 1). PDCs subjects had smaller lateral wall BDCs (p < 0.05) reduced average position (P 0.001). larger 0.001), an increased 0.01), width 0.05). Conclusion: showed with canines. In BDCs’

Cone beam computed tomography for Maxillary sinus vascular anatomy

Introduction As well described by all anatomists, the vessels of nose region, maxilla and sinus walls constitute a rich network of arteries and veins. Branches of the ophthalmic, maxillary and facial arteries supply the nose. They form anastomosis plexuses within the nasal mucosa. The anterior and posterior ethmoidal branches of the ophthalmic artery supply the frontal and ethmoidal sinuses and...

Evaluation of Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Diagnosis and Treatment Plan of Impacted Maxillary Canines

Introduction: Maxillary canines have important roles in facial appearance, development of arch, and functional occlusion. Radiographs are important in evaluating the location and nature of these anomalies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate two types of 2D and 3D imaging technique in diagnosis and treatment of maxillary impacted canines. Methods: Thirty eight patients (50 impacted canine...

Evaluation of neurovascular anatomical variations in maxillary anterior region in cone beam computed tomography images

Introduction: Incisive foramen in the maxilla is the oral terminus of the nasopalatine canal. This region is important in implantology, Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the  neurovascular anatomical variations in the maxillary anterior region, observed on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. Materials &Methods: In this cross-sectional study, maxillary CBCT ima...
